Welcome to Baby Peaches!
Caring Cradle Program
Consider hosting a
Caring Cradle for Baby Peaches. The Caring Cradle program can be
implemented with your local church, organization and/or office place. The
Caring Cradle program is an effective way to involve the community in
raising awareness of needy moms, while at the same time raising funds and much
needed baby products for families expecting newborns in the metro-Atlanta area.
With this program,
a cradle is filled with a variety of individual hearts. Each heart has a
word stated on it that represents a needed baby product, such as “parenting
book”, “outlet covers”, “parenting video”, “newborn thermometer” and more.
These baby products make up the “Peach Baby Bag”, which is donated to parents of
newborns. Program participants choose a few hearts to “shop” for and then,
donate the items back to the Cradle. At the end, an overall Caring Cradle
donation is made to Baby Peaches.
5 Steps to a Successful Caring Cradle
Program:
1.
Select a Caring Cradle location
– Caring Cradle programs have been held at the following types of locations:
ü
Local Churches – through
community outreach programs and small group ministries.
ü
Offices – through designated
departments and overall companies.
ü
Organizations – through local
community groups with regular meetings and attendees.
2.
Determine the timeline for the program
– after selecting a location, determine the duration of the program.
Cradles are most often held at locations for more than 1 month to provide
participants the opportunity to shop for the product and deliver it back to the
Cradle.
3.
Coordinate Caring Cradle materials delivery
– Baby Peaches will provide the following materials to you for the program:
ü
Baby Cradle – to display
at central location and to hold the hearts.
ü
Hearts – cut out with labels and
ready for distribution.
ü
Signage – promoting the program
and the Baby Peaches organization.
4.
Promote the program within your organization
– There are many different ways to promote the Caring Cradle program to
participants and potential shoppers. If you are coordinating a program
within your church, consider developing a short announcement in the church
bulletin about the program. If you are planning a program within your
organization or company, consider sending an email or include a brief article in
the monthly newsletter. An example of a paragraph to use to promote the
program is below:
The members of
(insert organization’s name here) are invited to share their love through the
Caring Cradle Program, sponsored by Baby Peaches, a nonprofit organization that
donates baby products to needy mothers of newborns in metro-Atlanta. Choose a
heart from the Caring Cradle in the (insert the location of the Cradle here),
and share your love with our newborn citizens by purchasing the item listed on
the heart. Next (week/month), return the baby item for pick up.
